Essential Raid Information for Keepers of the Dusk and our Friends.
Keepers of the Dusk raids use phpRaid to manage sign-ups, EPGP for loot distribution, ORA or CTRaidAssist to organize, and Ventrillo to facilitate the raids.
Raid Rotation
KotD has a strong base of regular raiders. The raiders that have worked hard in heroics, rep runs, and raids to have higher DPS, better tanking gear, or better healing gear are given priority in runs where bosses are not on farm status, or where the Raid Leader feels stronger players are needed to make the run click (such as the Friday/Sunday Karazhan runs, where a full clear is attempted in one night).
Once someone has demonstrated they have the gear and skill for a role in one of the non-farm runs, however, we happily rotate them through and try our best to make sure that if someone is rotated out of a run one week, they get in on the next one. Detailed attendance records are kept from all previous raids to facilitate this.
The Saturday Karazhan run is currently ear-marked for less geared or skilled players to attend. This is the run to shoot for if you are new to raiding with KotD or are still a bit undergeared.
phpRaid
We use phpRaid to sign up for the raids. Once the Raid Leader determines who should have a spot saved for a raid, those folks are pushed up into the raid in phpraid. Players in the queue should come online if possible, as no-shows are common. To access the Raid Sign-up page, please select Raid Sign-up from the Main Menu on the left of this page.
To have a shot at a reserved spot for a raid, a player must sign up more than 1 day ahead of time, as the Raid Leaders determine line-ups the afternoon of the day before a raid, typically.
EPGP
We use EPGP for a loot system. This is a very unique point system that bases each players' priority for gaining loot on the ratio of how many points they have earned (Earned Points) divided by how much gear they have gained (Gear Points). It strives to base priority, therefore, on what each player has done personally, and not on how much they raid relative to everyone else.
When someone comes to their first raid, they gain 150 Gear Points to start things off, and this prevents a brand new raider from immediately gaining unreasonably high priority. Follow this link for a more detailed discussion surrounding this system.
Expectation for Raiders
Raiders must specify a "main toon" that raids with the Keepers of the Dusk. All other toons played by this person will be considered alts for the purposes of our raids, and be treated as such. The main toon is the one that will be taken to raids, except in rare cases where an alt is needed to make a raid successful.
Raid regulars should be signed up on phpRaid at least one day before the raid. All raiders given a spot in the raid on phpRaid should be online 5 min. before official invite time, and near the instance 15 min before the first pull time. The alternates still in the queue should be online, anywhere in the world at first pull time.
If attendees are not online and in raid at 15 minutes prior to first pull time, their spot is forfeited unless they gave prior notice. This way if there is need, the alternate can start traveling towards the instance to make it there for first pull.
First pull should occur promptly when scheduled, if not earlier. There is no need to wait for full raid to start clearing trash. If the raid is not filled by then, RL will continue filling spots. A MT or MA will be responsible for pulls and assignments.
It is expected that all raiders will use Ventrillo to help in organizing and facilitating the raids. |
